Mercedes-Benz unveils All-New CLA BEV in India, marking a new era in electric luxury

Built on the MMA platform and powered by MB.OS, the CLA BEV delivers a software-defined luxury experience with up to 792 km range and ultra-fast 800V charging.

Mercedes-Benz has introduced the all-new CLA BEV in India, positioning it as its most intelligent, intuitive, and emotionally engaging vehicle yet. As the brand’s first next-generation battery electric vehicle (BEV) based on the Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA), the CLA BEV signals a major step forward in the company’s electrification journey in the country.

The CLA BEV is available in three variants — the top-end CLA 250+ ‘Launch Edition’, the CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’, and the CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ — catering to a wide spectrum of luxury EV buyers. Designed as a born-electric luxury sedan, the model integrates advanced software capabilities through Mercedes-Benz’s proprietary MB.OS operating system, offering over-the-air updates and a highly adaptive MBUX user experience.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, highlighted that the CLA BEV represents a shift towards intelligent, software-defined mobility. He emphasised that the vehicle is built on a strong foundation of technology, high product substance, and a comprehensive ownership ecosystem, including the brand’s 9,000+ strong MB.CHARGE public charging network, flexible financing solutions, and an industry-first High-Voltage Battery Report.

Built for a new generation of tech-savvy luxury customers, the CLA BEV combines expressive design with digital intelligence. Its fastback silhouette, extended wheelbase, and aerodynamic profile reflect Mercedes-Benz’s evolving “Sensual Purity” design philosophy, while distinctive elements such as the illuminated front panel with 142-star motifs and connected LED lighting enhance its visual appeal.

Inside, the CLA BEV offers a highly personalised digital experience powered by MB.OS. The MBUX Virtual Assistant proactively supports drivers by suggesting charging stops, optimising routes, and adapting vehicle settings based on usage patterns.

The CLA 250+ ‘Launch Edition’ stands out with exclusive features such as the Superscreen, MANUFAKTUR Cosmos Black Magno paint, AMG-inspired detailing, ambient lighting, and premium interior finishes.

In terms of performance, the CLA BEV is engineered for real-world Indian driving conditions. The CLA 250+ variants feature 800V architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging that can add up to 400 km of range in just 20 minutes. The CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ can add up to 320 km in the same time frame.

The CLA 200 offers a WLTP-certified range of 542 km, while the CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’ delivers an impressive 792 km range, positioning it among the longest-range EVs in its segment.

Mercedes-Benz is further strengthening customer confidence with the introduction of an industry-first High Voltage Battery Report, which provides transparent insights into battery health through system-generated diagnostics and physical inspection.

Ownership is supported by flexible financing options through Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, with EMIs starting from ₹62,000 under the Star Agility+ plan. Customers can also opt for a standard finance package at an introductory interest rate of 6.99%. Additionally, the 4-year ‘Star Ease’ service package and an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty enhance long-term ownership value.

The CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ is priced at ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom) with deliveries commencing in June 2026, while the CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’ is priced at ₹59 lakh, with deliveries beginning in April 2026. The top-spec CLA BEV ‘Launch Edition’ is introduced at an introductory price of ₹64 lakh.

With the launch of the CLA BEV, Mercedes-Benz is setting new benchmarks in electric luxury, combining advanced software, long-range capability, and a robust ownership ecosystem to redefine the premium EV experience in India.
