Zelio E-Mobility unveils Tanga Nine+ Electric 3-Wheeler at RideAsia Expo 2026

With an upgraded Autosafe front design, expanded 8-passenger capacity, and up to 150 km range, the vehicle is designed to enhance both safety and operator earning potential.

Zelio E-Mobility, a rapidly expanding Indian manufacturer of electric two- and three-wheelers, unveiled its newest electric three-wheeler, the Tanga Nine+, at the RideAsia EV Expo 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The company, which has been consistently achieving year-on-year growth, is expected to officially launch the model in the second quarter of the current financial year.

The Tanga Nine+ marks a major upgrade over its predecessor, designed to address evolving last-mile mobility needs across urban and semi-urban markets. One of the most notable enhancements is the introduction of an Autosafe front design, moving beyond the conventional open or mirror-front structure typically seen in three-wheelers. This advancement is aimed at improving passenger safety and driver confidence in real-world operating conditions.

In addition, the vehicle now offers an expanded seating capacity of up to 8 passengers, compared to 5 in the earlier Tanga Nine variant, enabling higher passenger throughput and improved earning potential for operators. The product has been specifically developed to cater to shared mobility use cases such as intra-city transport, short-distance connectivity, and high-frequency routes where efficiency, safety, and capacity play a critical role.

The Tanga Nine+ is engineered for dependable daily performance, delivering a top speed of 45-50 km/h and a range of 150 km per charge. It is powered by a 2.5Kw motor with BLDC / PMSM technology and offers multiple battery configurations including 7.8 kWh and 10kWh, providing flexibility based on usage requirements.

Built for comfort and durability, the vehicle features 670 mm leg space, a gross vehicle weight of 900 kg, and wheel & rim size of 3.75×1 / 4.00×12. It is equipped with a combi braking system with drum brakes at both front and rear, ensuring stable and controlled braking performance. Charging options of 25A/45A further support operational flexibility across different usage environments.

“Last-mile mobility in India is evolving rapidly, and there is a clear need for solutions that balance safety, capacity, and economic viability,” said Kunal Arya, Managing Director, Zelio E-Mobility. “With the Tanga Nine+, we have focused on addressing these core requirements by introducing an Autosafe front design and significantly enhancing passenger capacity. This product is built to support operators with better earning potential while ensuring a safer and more comfortable experience for passengers.”

The 7th edition of RideAsia-EV brought together more than 300 leading brands, showcasing the latest products and technologies in a fast-evolving electric mobility market shaped by shifting consumer demand, new innovations and emerging business channels. Zelio’s Tanga Nine+ drew strong attention at the expo, attracting considerable interest and enquiries from visitors.

Since its inception in 2021, Zelio E-Mobility has scaled its presence steadily across India’s EV market, supported by an annual manufacturing capacity of 72,000 units, a growing base of 2,00,000+ customers, and an extensive dealership network of 350 outlets across 20 states and union territories.
