VE Commercial Vehicles reported total sales of 7,978 units in May 2026. Eicher domestic sales grew 9.1%, while Volvo Trucks and Buses recorded a 32.2% year-on-year increase.

VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), the joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, reported total sales of 7,978 units in May 2026, registering a growth of 7.8% compared to 7,401 units sold in May 2025.

The overall sales performance comprised 7,789 units from the Eicher brand and 189 units from the Volvo brand.

Eicher-branded trucks and buses recorded sales of 7,789 units during the month, up 7.3% from 7,258 units sold in May 2025. The growth was primarily driven by strong demand in the domestic commercial vehicle market.

Domestic sales of Eicher trucks and buses increased 9.1% year-on-year to 7,375 units in May 2026, compared to 6,758 units during the corresponding month last year.

On the export front, VECV recorded sales of 414 units, down 17.2% from 500 units exported in May 2025, reflecting softer demand in international markets.

Meanwhile, Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses delivered a strong performance, with sales rising 32.2% year-on-year to 189 units in May 2026, compared to 143 units in the same period last year.

VECV continues to strengthen its position in India’s commercial vehicle industry through its diversified portfolio, which includes Eicher trucks and buses, Volvo buses, exclusive distribution of Volvo Trucks in India, engine manufacturing and exports for the Volvo Group, non-automotive engines, and the Eicher components business.

Established in December 2008, the Volvo Group–Eicher Motors joint venture has evolved into a multi-brand and multi-division commercial vehicle company focused on advancing modern transportation solutions through innovative products and services for domestic and global markets.
