Nissan Rogue tops J.D. Power 2026 Initial Quality Study

The recognition underscores Nissan's commitment to quality, manufacturing excellence and customer satisfaction.

The Nissan Rogue has been ranked the highest in the Compact SUV segment in the J.D. Power 2026 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS), while Nissan secured the second position among mass-market automotive brands for new-vehicle quality.

Built at Nissan’s Smyrna, Tennessee manufacturing facility, the Rogue earned the top ranking in its segment for the first time, highlighting the model’s strong quality performance and customer satisfaction. The achievement marks a significant milestone for Nissan’s best-selling SUV in the U.S. market.

Further recognising the manufacturing quality behind the Rogue, Nissan’s Smyrna Line 2 production facility received the Americas Bronze Plant Award in the 2026 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, underscoring the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles.

The JD Power IQS surveys owners about 227 potential problems, organized into nine categories, to rank vehicles and brands based on problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) that occur during the first 90 days of ownership. Nissan’s continued performance in this study reflects the brand’s ongoing efforts to deliver high-quality vehicles that satisfy owners.

“Quality is foundational to how we design, engineer and build every Nissan. That focus is reflected in our performance in the JD Power Initial Quality Study,” said Christian Meunier, chairman, Nissan Americas. “Rogue represents the very best of Nissan in the largest segment in the U.S., setting the standard in compact SUVs with the No. 1 ranking for new-vehicle quality.”

Nissan is America’s fastest-growing mainstream brand, powered in part by Rogue retail sales, which were up 17% for the month of May.
