Hyundai CRETA Electric gets Battery-as-a-Service option

Hyundai Motor India has introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model for the CRETA Electric, lowering its starting price to ₹10.99 lakh. Customers can subscribe to the battery from ₹3.9 per kilometre while enjoying up to 510 km range, fast charging, Level 2 ADAS and other premium features.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model for the Hyundai CRETA Electric, enabling customers to purchase the electric SUV at a starting ex-showroom price of ₹10.99 lakh. Under the new ownership option, customers can opt for a battery subscription plan with EMIs starting from ₹3.9 per kilometre, significantly lowering the initial purchase cost.

The launch of the BaaS model marks another step in Hyundai’s strategy to accelerate electric vehicle adoption in India by making EV ownership more affordable and addressing one of the key barriers for buyers—the higher upfront acquisition cost.

Along with introducing the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model, Hyundai Motor India has further enhanced the ownership experience of the Hyundai CRETA Electric with the addition of an integrated Side Footstep, offering ease of entry and exit for customers and elevating its premium SUV stance, based on customer response and market demand, the company will offer a 7.4 kW wall box charger in the HC variants of the line-up, enabling a customer-friendly home charging solution

Built on the strong legacy of the CRETA brand and Hyundai’s proven battery management system, the Hyundai CRETA Electric combines Hyundai’s proven SUV DNA with advanced electric mobility technologies, connected features, comfort and safety.

The Hyundai CRETA Electric offers an ARAI-certified driving range of up to 510 km and is available with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs. It supports DC fast charging (10–80% in 39 minutes) and features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS, i-Pedal single-pedal driving, Digital Key, Active Air Flaps (AAF), an integrated side footstep, and a 0–100 km/h time of 7.9 seconds for the long-range variant. The electric SUV is backed by an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty, further enhancing peace of mind for buyers.

The Hyundai CRETA Electric has proven its real-life usage across multiple test and record runs including the Hyundai Test Driven by 100 campaign, where 100 creators test drove the CRETA Electric and evaluated it across 10 states, 26 cities, and 200+ destinations, covering 15,000 km. The evaluation spanning over 100+ days tested the car in diverse terrains and climates, generating strong digital traction with 526M views, 35M likes, and extensive audience engagement.

Hyundai CRETA Electric achieved a national milestone by recording the “Maximum Distance Covered by an Electric Car in 24 Hours” in the India Book of Records, covering 1,326.5 km. During the same run, it also set a benchmark for the fastest 1,000 km, completing the distance in just 18 hours and 31 minutes.
