Synology has unveiled the DVA7400, its flagship Deep Learning Analytics (DVA) appliance designed to deliver enterprise-scale AI-powered surveillance with complete on-premises deployment. Built for large-scale security environments, the DVA7400 enables organisations to centrally manage camera networks across multiple locations while running advanced AI video analytics locally, ensuring full ownership and privacy of surveillance data.
The latest appliance reflects Synology’s continued focus on providing intelligent, scalable, and secure surveillance solutions for enterprise customers without relying on cloud-based processing.

Centralized surveillance at scale, fully on-premises
Built on a 2U 12-bay rackmount chassis, the DVA7400 processes up to 100 high-resolution camera feeds while running 40 real-time deep learning analytics tasks simultaneously. All recordings and AI metadata are processed and stored on the appliance, keeping data within the organization’s own infrastructure and supporting regulatory compliance.
The DVA7400 also serves as a central management server, orchestrating camera fleets and servers across multiple sites through the Central Management System (CMS) in Synology Surveillance Station.
AI video analytics for advanced investigations
With Semantic Video Search, operators can query video archives from all 100 recording feeds using natural language, turning hours of manual footage review into seconds. A dedicated hardware accelerator processes these searches on isolated resources, ensuring the DVA7400’s 40 real-time deep learning analytics tasks continue at full performance.
For complex investigations, the DVA7400 adds Attribute Search to filter targets by visual identifiers such as clothing color or vehicle type, License Plate Recognition for access control, and Find Repeated Objects1 to reconstruct an individual’s movement across locations. These capabilities complement the DVA7400’s real-time analytics, including Face Recognition, Crowd Detection, Intrusion Detection, and People and Vehicle Counting.
AI-powered analytics for existing camera fleets
With server-side analytics and broad ONVIF Profile support, the DVA7400 brings AI capabilities to an organization’s existing cameras, upgrading the entire surveillance deployment without the need to replace a single camera.
