Toyota Kirloskar Motor has marked another milestone in its commitment to developing industry-ready talent by hosting the convocation ceremony for the 17th batch of students at the Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI). The ceremony celebrated the graduation of 358 students, comprising 64 students from the regular TTTI programme and 294 students from the Toyota Kaushalya initiative, which focuses on empowering youth from rural Karnataka through skill development.
The graduates were recognised for successfully completing TTTI’s holistic learning framework, which is built around the four pillars of Knowledge, Skill, Body, and Attitude, equipping them with the technical expertise and professional values required for modern manufacturing careers.
The graduating students received their academic honours from Dr. K. P. Gopalkrishna, distinguished educationist and Chairman of the TISB, NAFL, GMC and NPS Group of Institutions, who attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. He was joined by Mr. Satish Suryawanshi, In-charge Director, Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET), Government of Maharashtra, and Mr. Yoshihiro Tohyama, Principal of Toyota Technical Skills Academy, Japan, who also graced the occasion.
The convocation underscores Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s continued focus on strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem by nurturing the next generation of skilled professionals through industry-aligned technical education and vocational training initiatives.
The ceremony also brought together representatives from the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC), National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), Toyota Technical Skill Academy – Japan, senior leadership from Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Toyota Group companies and supplier partners, as well as officials from Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Directorate of General Training (DGT), National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) and Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC), providing a platform for collaboration and exchange of ideas on advancing India’s skilling ecosystem.
Reaffirming its focus on strengthening vocational education, Toyota Kirloskar Motor announced the extension of five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during the convocation ceremony.

On successfully completing their programmes, students were awarded multiple nationally and industry-recognised certifications, including the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC), ASDC Certificate, Japan India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM) Certificate, and the Toyota Certificate of Completion. These qualifications prepare graduates for careers across the manufacturing sector. Since inception, 2,133 students have graduated from TTTI, with 531 alumni becoming part of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, while many others have secured opportunities across group companies, supplier organisations and international employers.
Dr. K. P. Gopalkrishna, Distinguished Educationist and Chairman of the TISB, NAFL, GMC & NPS Group of Institutions said, “The future of education will be measured not by the number of graduates we produce, but by the quality of professionals we prepare for an increasingly dynamic world. To achieve this requires sustained collaboration between government, industry and academic institutions. Such initiatives not only improve employability but also inspire confidence among young people to pursue rewarding careers in manufacturing and advanced technologies.”
TTTI students have consistently showcased India’s talent on the global stage through the WorldSkills Competition, earning one Medallion in Brazil (2015), one Bronze medal and one Medallion in Abu Dhabi (2017), one Medallion in Russia (2019), two Bronze medals in Germany (2022) and two Medallions in France (2024).
Adding another milestone to this journey, a TTTI trainee secured the Gold Medal at the Australia Global Skills Challenge 2026, the largest international skill excellence event organised to simulate the WorldSkills Competition. conducted from 23rd to 29th June 2026 in Wollongong, Australia, the competition featured participants from 16 countries, including India, Australia, Japan and the USA. Continuing this strong international presence, TTTI students will represent India at the WorldSkills Competition 2026 in Shanghai, China, where they will compete in Mechatronics, Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, Welding and Autobody Repair.
