Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies has appointed Aditya Kumar Tiwari as Head of Engineering & Design, HV Batteries, strengthening its engineering leadership as the company expands its capabilities in advanced battery technologies.
Tiwari has returned to India after spending five years overseas with Volvo Group in Sweden and VinFast in Vietnam, where he gained experience across the automotive and electric vehicle sectors.
Speaking about his return, Tiwari said he was motivated by a desire to contribute to India’s rapidly growing electrification ecosystem. He added that the move also represents the fulfilment of a personal commitment he made before leaving India to pursue international career opportunities.
Tiwari to lead High-Voltage Battery Engineering
In his new role at Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies, Tiwari will lead engineering and design activities for high-voltage (HV) battery systems.
The role comes at a time when Indian automakers are accelerating the development and adoption of electric vehicles, increasing the demand for advanced high-voltage battery technologies and engineering expertise.
Tiwari’s international experience across established automotive and EV companies is expected to support Amara Raja’s efforts to strengthen its engineering capabilities in this area.
Amara Raja Expands Beyond Lead-Acid Batteries
Tiwari’s appointment comes as Amara Raja continues to expand beyond its traditional lead-acid battery business and build capabilities in advanced cell and battery technologies.
The company is investing in next-generation battery solutions aimed at emerging mobility applications, including electric vehicles, as it seeks to strengthen its position in the evolving energy storage and electrification ecosystem.
The addition of Tiwari to its engineering leadership team further reflects Amara Raja’s focus on developing in-house expertise and advancing its high-voltage battery technology capabilities.
