
Kia India has expanded its multi-powertrain portfolio with the launch of factory-fitted CNG variants of the Carens and Carens Clavis. The new CNG models are aimed at customers seeking greater fuel efficiency and everyday practicality, while retaining the space and versatility of Kia’s three-row vehicles.
The Kia Carens CNG is priced from ₹12.11 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Carens Clavis CNG starts at ₹12.38 lakh (ex-showroom). With the introduction of CNG powertrains, Kia is offering customers additional powertrain choice across its family-oriented three-row portfolio.
The factory-fitted CNG system is integrated into the vehicles as part of the manufacturer’s offering, providing customers with a convenient CNG mobility option for both urban commuting and family-oriented usage. According to Kia India, the new CNG variants combine the efficiency and practicality of CNG technology with the space, comfort and versatility associated with the Carens and Carens Clavis.
The latest additions further strengthen Kia India’s multi-powertrain strategy, giving customers the flexibility to choose a powertrain based on their individual driving requirements and usage patterns. The CNG variants are particularly positioned for buyers looking for a three-row vehicle that can cater to regular city travel as well as longer family journeys.
With the launch of the factory-fitted CNG options, the Carens and Carens Clavis now offer customers another alternative within Kia’s three-row vehicle range, expanding the choice available in the growing CNG passenger vehicle segment.

The factory-fitted CNG system on the Carens and Carens Clavis has been integrated with the vehicle to deliver a convenient and dependable everyday driving experience. The CNG configuration builds on the inherent practicality of both models, offering customers an additional powertrain option suited to regular commuting and family usage.
The CNG system features a 60-litre CNG tank and has been engineered to complement the vehicle’s existing powertrain and packaging, while retaining a spare tyre even with the integration of the CNG kit, ensuring everyday practicality and convenience for customers.
Kia Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG bring together the inherent strengths of Kia’s three-row portfolio with the everyday practicality of a CNG powertrain. Designed for modern Indian families, both models offer a compelling combination of space, comfort, convenience and efficiency, while retaining the distinct proposition of the Carens and Carens Clavis. The CNG variants will also offer a common set of customer-focused features and will additionally include Distance to Empty (DTE) logic in instrument cluster (CNG Mode), CNG Fuel change switch, Bigger 16inch Front Disc Brakes delivering convenient and practical ownership experience for everyday mobility.
Kia Carens and Carens Clavis CNG, based on G1.5 6MT, will feature a factory-fitted CNG kit, combining the practicality and versatility of Kia’s three-row models with an additional powertrain option. Both Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG variants also feature R16 wheels and 16-inch Front disc brakes, along with CNG-specific engine calibration and modified suspension. A CNG Fuel Change Switch and 4.2-inch Colour TFT MID with CNG DTE Logic further enhance the CNG experience, while a modified third-row Seat-Back Frame improves the recline angle for added passenger comfort in both models.
Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG are powered by a Smartstream G1.5 engine, paired with a 6MT transmission, delivering 96 PS of power and 123 Nm of torque in CNG mode. Both models feature a 60-litre CNG tank integrated alongside the petrol fuel system, offering customers the flexibility of a dual-fuel configuration while supporting convenient everyday mobility.
The CNG variants will be available across 3 variants in Carens & Clavis, giving customers the flexibility to choose a configuration that best aligns with their individual mobility and ownership requirements.
Kia Carens CNG will be available in 1 variant and Carens Clavis CNG will be available across 02 variants, providing customers with the flexibility to choose a configuration aligned with their requirements.
