Lotus revealed the 2024 Lotus Eletre electric SUV

British luxury carmaker Lotus revealed the 2024 Lotus Eletre electric SUV globally. The Eletre is the first SUV or first-ever electric SUV from Lotus. The Lotus Eletre electric will be available in three different variants, all of which use a 112kWh battery and is offered with two powertrain options.

The initial variant Eletre is priced at £89,500 (about Rs 74.23 lakh), mid variant Eletre S is priced at £104,500 (about Rs 86.67 lakh) and the top of the line Electre R is priced at £120,00 (about Rs 99.53 lakh). The supplies of the SUV are set to begin in the first half of 2023. The base variant and Eletre S will get an electric motor which produces 603 bhp of power and 710 Nm of torque and Lotus claims that the SUV can sprint from 0-100 in just 4.5 seconds. These two models have 600km of claimed range under the stricter WLTP test cycle. Talking about the top-of-the-line Eletre R, it gets a dual motor setup which generates massive 905 bhp of power and close to mind-blowing 1000 Nm of torque. Lotus claims that the SUV can sprint from 0-100 in 2.95 seconds and has a range of 495 Km on one full charge.

The company says that it will take just 20 minutes to charge all three variants from 10 to 80 per cent using a DC rapid charger. It has an 800V architecture and can support DC charging at up to 350kW. The Eletre R also comes with Track Mode, which offers a lowered ride height, more performance-oriented settings for the dampers and anti-roll control, a fully open active grille, and launch control. Moving on to the interior, the electric SUV gets man-made fibre for the carpets and boot liner that’s both 100 per cent recycled and 100 per cent recyclable the SUV also feature a massive glass roof and the company says that the cabin has been designed to keep space and comfort in mind.

In terms of equipment and features, the SUV gets a massive 15.1-inch OLED centre screen with Lotus Hyper OS. The system runs on two Qualcomm 8155 System-On-Chips. The infotainment system gets on-board Navigation, EV range assistant and predictive routing, which are also updateable over-the-air and these technologies have been provided by HERE Technologies. The Eletre is also the first car to combine audio technology from Dolby Atmos and KEF Audio.

The starting variant Eletre gets aerodynamically designed 22-inch alloy wheels, an active aerodynamic front grille, matrix LED headlights, air suspension, torque vectoring for the AWD system as well as a previously mentioned 15.1-inch OLED infotainment system. The Eletre S adds an ambient lighting system, an active aero rear wing, privacy glass, an upgraded 23-speaker KEF Reference sound system and illuminated door sills. The Eletre R gets a dynamic handling package, high-performance rubber, carbon fibre upgrades, black wheels and a set of stainless-steel pedals.

The Lotus Eletre will be available in five different wheel designs, six interior designs, six brake calliper colours, and an initial selection of six exterior colours. There are six exterior colours to choose from – Natron Red, Galloway Green, Stellar Black, Kaimu Grey, Blossom Grey and Solar Yellow. The new Lotus Eletre SUV will compete with Ferrari Purosange, Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga, and the Tesla Model X.
