Emobi, Musashi, and Honda Join Forces to Develop High-Performance E2W for Last-Mile Delivery

Emobi has harnessed Musashi's high-performance powertrain and integrated HEID's Battery-As-A-Service through battery swapping solutions. The E2W is engineered for outstanding performance, reliability, and affordability, targeting the last-mile delivery and bike taxi segments.

Bengaluru-based Emobi Manufactury Private Limited has unveiled a strategic development partnership with Musashi Seimitsu CO Ltd. (Musashi) and Honda Power Pack Energy India (HEID) for Battery Swap Services. Emobi, led by a young and innovative team, aims to revolutionize last-mile/bike taxi services by introducing its high-performance electric two-wheelers (E2W), challenging the use of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles or underpowered electric two-wheelers.

Emobi has harnessed Musashi’s high-performance powertrain and integrated HEID’s Battery-As-A-Service through battery-swapping solutions. The E2W is engineered for outstanding performance, reliability, and affordability, targeting the last-mile delivery and bike taxi segments. This vehicle aims to be on par with 125CC equivalent ICE models, offering top-tier performance, efficiency, and reliability, cemented through strong partnerships and a commitment to perfection.

In the Indian B2B electric vehicle market, rapid expansion is on the horizon. However, existing electric vehicle offerings in this segment often prioritize cost over performance, making it challenging for companies, particularly in the bike taxi category, to convince riders to transition from ICE vehicles to electric vehicles.

Bharath Rao, Founder of Emobi, expressed enthusiasm, saying, “We are thrilled to introduce Emobi’s game-changing EV to the market. Our vision has always been to make last-mile deliveries and bike taxis more exciting, eco-friendly, and cost-effective than ICE vehicles. With the support of our global partners and our innovative technology-enabled designs, we are confident that Emobi will redefine the last-mile delivery and bike taxi landscape in India, with global expansion on the horizon.”

Toshihisa Otsuka, Musashi’s CEO of the India/Africa region and head of the e-motorcycle business, affirmed their support for Emobi’s strategy, aiming to develop affordable and reliable products through this collaboration.

Tomohide Haraguchi, Vice President of Technology and OEM development at Honda Power Pack Energy India Pvt. Ltd., highlighted the benefits of their battery swapping service, reducing charging downtime and initial EV purchase costs. He emphasized that the lithium-ion battery technology accumulated by Honda over the years will expedite Emobi’s growth in cutting-edge electric vehicle sales.

Aligned with the government’s push towards electric mobility and sustainability, Emobi’s partnership with Musashi and HEID aims to encourage last-mile delivery and bike taxi riders to embrace electric vehicles, ultimately replacing ICE vehicles for a more eco-friendly and cost-effective future.
