South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor on Wednesday, 10th August, launched the 4th-gen Tucson in the country with prices starting at INR 27.69 lakh and going up to INR 34.39 lakh (ex-showroom). It is targeting to sell 5,000 units per year of the new model in India. The company had opened bookings for the new Tucson at Hyundai Signature outlets across India since July 18, for INR 50,000 and via the company website. it comes with a waiting period of about 8 – 10 months.
The new-gen model comes with petrol and diesel powertrains, mated with six and eight-speed automatic transmissions, respectively. Both the trims feature two-litre engines generating an output of 156 PS and 186 PS of power, respectively.
The 2.0 l petrol line-up will be offered in 2 variants, starting with Platinum AT trim variant at INR 27, 69, 700 and the Signature AT variant at INR 30, 17, 000. The 2.0 l diesel engine will be offered in 3 variants with the Platinum AT variant at INR 30, 19, 700, Signature AT priced at INR 32, 87, 000 and the top of the line Signature AT 4WD with Hyundai’s HTRAC technology & multi terrain mode is priced at INR 34, 39, 000.
Tucson will come with Level-2 ADAS features including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist Junction Turning, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Blind-Spot Collision- Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Lane Following Assist, High Beam Assist, amongst others. Other features in the 4th-gen Tucson include second row seat with reclining function, passenger seat walk-in device, 60:40 split folding rear seat along with panoramic sunroof, Bose premium sound 8 speaker system, driver power seat memory function, electric parking brake, rain sensing wipers, 10-way power adjustable driver seat with lumbar, amongst others.

Safety features include six airbags (Front Dual, Side & Curtain Airbags), front & rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, BVM (Blind-Spot View Monitor) / SVM (Surround View Monitor), etc. Hyundai Tucson comes in 5 colour options that include Polar White, Phantom Black, Amazon Grey (New & Exclusive), Starry Night and Fiery Red.
Customers can also choose between 2 Dual Tone colour options that include Polar white with phantom black roof and Fiery Red with phantom black roof. For Signature trims, dual tone exterior colour option is available at an additional price of INR 15 000, Hyundai said.
