Eaton breaks ground on new GEIS facility in Chennai

Spanning 100,000 sq. ft., the new facility will feature advanced manufacturing floors, R&D capabilities, an experience center, and Eaton’s state-of-the-art headquarters for GEIS in India.

Eaton, a leader in intelligent power management, has commenced construction on its new GEIS (Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions) facility in Sholinganallur, Chennai. This milestone underscores Eaton’s ongoing expansion in India and highlights its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in local manufacturing.

The ceremony was led by Hon. Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin and senior government officials of the Tamil Nadu Government with key Eaton executives including Simon Matthieson, Vice President & General Manager, EMEA for GEIS, Eaton; Marine Drive, Country Head and Managing Director for India, Eaton; and Philipose Jacob, Country Director of GEIS India, Eaton.

Expected to be completed by the end of 2026, the facility will enhance Eaton’s ability to deliver innovative power management solutions across industries while strengthening India’s position as a strategic hub for the company’s global operations.
