Indofast Energye xpands Battery Swapping across South India

Indofast currently operates over 450 battery-swapping stations in Bengaluru. Nationwide network includes 1,900+ swap stations across 24 cities, supporting over 120,000 EVs.

Indofast Energy has joined hands with EV charging infrastructure provider Zeon Charging to strengthen its battery-swapping network across Southern India, with the expansion beginning in Bengaluru. The partnership aims to improve access to convenient battery-swapping infrastructure for commercial electric vehicle users, particularly last-mile delivery riders, by deploying stations at high-footfall commercial locations.

As part of the collaboration, Indofast Energy will install its Quick Interchange Stations (QIS) across Zeon Charging’s network of premium malls, metro parking facilities and commercial hubs in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and other key cities. By leveraging existing power infrastructure and strategically located urban mobility hubs, the companies aim to make battery swapping more accessible and efficient for EV users.

The rollout has already commenced in Bengaluru with the installation of six QIS units across two locations, including Orion Mall, Rajajinagar. The partners are also evaluating the addition of five to six more battery-swapping stations at the mall as part of the next phase of expansion.

The initiative builds on Indofast Energy’s growing battery-swapping ecosystem in Southern India. The company currently operates more than 450 battery-swapping stations in Bengaluru and a nationwide network of over 1,900 swap stations across 24 cities, supporting more than 120,000 electric vehicles.

Commenting on the partnership, Subhash Bhat, Interim CEO of Indofast Energy, said the collaboration with Zeon Charging will help bring battery-swapping services to highly accessible, high-visibility locations across Southern India, making EV operations more convenient and efficient for commercial users.
