Ampere has launched the Nexus EX+ electric scooter in India with a new 5kW motor, IoT-enabled Intellipack connectivity and an IP65-rated water-resistant charger. The new electric scooter is priced at Rs 1,29,999, while the Nexus EX+ with Intellipack is available at Rs 1,35,999.
The 5kW motor produces a claimed 202Nm of peak torque at the wheel and enables a 0-40kph acceleration time of 4.5 seconds. According to Ampere, the motor is designed to deliver stronger pick-up and improved gradeability on steep climbs, flyovers and hilly roads, as well as during pillion riding and load-bearing conditions.
The Nexus EX+ is offered in two variants, allowing customers to choose between the standard version and a higher-specification version equipped with Ampere’s Intellipack connected technology. Both variants are available in Carbon Knight and Steel Grey colour options.
Ampere Nexus EX+ Gets 5kW Motor and IP65 Charger
The 5kW motor is the primary mechanical upgrade on the Nexus EX+. Along with its claimed 202Nm of peak wheel torque, the motor enables the electric scooter to accelerate from 0-40kph in 4.5 seconds.
Ampere says the motor has been engineered to improve performance on steep inclines, flyovers and hilly terrain. The additional output is also aimed at delivering better performance when carrying a pillion or additional load.
The Nexus EX+ also features an IP65-rated water-resistant charger, which is designed to offer enhanced durability and protection during varied weather conditions.
Ampere Nexus EX+ Intellipack Features
The higher-specification Nexus EX+ comes equipped with Ampere’s Intellipack connected technology, which works through the company’s Connect App and offers more than 30 connected features.
The system includes real-time charging status, live vehicle tracking, geo-fencing, Find My Scooter, turn-by-turn navigation and remote vehicle diagnostics.
Other connected functions include trip reports, ride statistics, charging history, energy insights, battery health monitoring and service booking. This allows buyers to opt for the standard Nexus EX+ or the connected version with Intellipack based on their requirements.
Ampere Nexus EX+ Price and Battery Warranty
The Ampere Nexus EX+ is priced at Rs 1,29,999, while the Nexus EX+ with Intellipack is priced at Rs 1,35,999. Both variants are available in Carbon Knight and Steel Grey.
The electric scooter uses LFP battery technology, with Ampere claiming a designed battery life of 2,00,000km. The Nexus EX+ also comes with a five-year/75,000km battery warranty.
Vikas Singh, Managing Director, Greaves Electric Mobility, said the Nexus EX+ combines the Intellipack connectivity system with the higher-output motor and IP65-rated charger. He highlighted the motor’s focus on improving performance during conditions such as flyovers, hilly roads, pillion riding and load-bearing use, while the water-resistant charger is intended to offer additional protection in varied weather conditions.
The new Ampere Nexus EX+ will be available through Ampere dealerships across India.
