Honda XR300L, XR300 Rally launched in India, Prices start at Rs 1.83 lakh

Honda has launched the XR300L and XR300 Rally in India, with prices starting at Rs 1.83 lakh. Both get a 293.5cc engine and 21/18-inch wheels.

Honda has opened bookings for the XR300L and XR300 Rally in India and announced prices for both dual-sport motorcycles. The two models were among the 10 motorcycles showcased by Honda in July and are aimed at the growing dual-sport and adventure motorcycle segment.

Honda XR300L and XR300 Rally Prices

The Honda XR300L is priced at Rs 1.83 lakh, while the more off-road-oriented XR300 Rally costs Rs 2.08 lakh. Both motorcycles are locally manufactured in India and will be sold through Honda BigWing dealerships.

The XR300L and XR300 Rally are positioned as more accessible additions to Honda’s adventure and dual-sport motorcycle portfolio, with the Rally variant offering additional equipment for riders looking for greater touring and off-road capability.

Honda XR300L and XR300 Rally Engine and Hardware

Both motorcycles are powered by a 293.5cc, single-cylinder, air- and oil-cooled engine that is closely related to the unit used in the Honda CB300F. International versions of the engine produce around 24.3hp and 26.5Nm.

Honda has not yet listed the complete India-specification details on its website. However, the India-spec motorcycles feature revised exhaust routing compared with the South American-specification XR300L, which is likely related to meeting local emissions requirements.

Both motorcycles feature telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock, along with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, giving them the hardware expected from dual-sport motorcycles.

Honda XR300 Rally Gets Additional Equipment

Priced Rs 25,000 higher than the standard XR300L, the XR300 Rally comes with additional equipment aimed at longer-distance touring and off-road riding.

The Rally gets a 5-inch TFT display, larger fuel tank, taller windscreen, knuckle guards and rally-inspired bodywork. It also features more comprehensive switchgear compared with the standard XR300L.

The Rally is expected to have a slightly taller seat height and marginally higher kerb weight than the XR300L, primarily due to its larger fuel tank. Honda is yet to reveal the complete India-specific specifications of both motorcycles.

Honda XR300L vs Kawasaki KLX230 and Hero Xpulse 210

The XR300L enters a segment that has been gaining traction in India as manufacturers expand their dual-sport motorcycle offerings.

At Rs 1.83 lakh, the XR300L is positioned below the Kawasaki KLX230, which is priced at Rs 2.19 lakh, while offering a larger 293.5cc engine.

The Honda is also only marginally more expensive than the Hero Xpulse 210, which is priced between Rs 1.68 lakh and Rs 1.77 lakh. The XR300 Rally, priced at Rs 2.08 lakh, widens the gap over the Xpulse 210 but still undercuts the Kawasaki KLX230.

With its relatively competitive pricing, 21/18-inch wheel setup and dual-sport positioning, the XR300L could give Honda a stronger presence in India’s expanding adventure and off-road motorcycle market.
