Setco Automotive Limited, a key player in the clutch segment for medium and heavy commercial vehicles (MHCVs), has announced its foray into the suspension systems market with the launch of two new products—Load Cushion and Torque Rod Bush. This move marks a strategic extension of Setco’s commercial vehicle product portfolio.
The Load Cushion is designed to absorb vertical loads and road shocks in heavy-duty applications, typically installed between the chassis and axle or leaf spring assembly. Commonly used in trailers, tippers, and heavy commercial vehicles with bogie suspensions, it enhances ride comfort and stability. Built from high-strength elastic rubber with robust rubber-to-metal bonding, it offers superior compressive strength and long-term durability.
The Torque Rod Bush, used across trucks, buses, and trailers, is mounted on either end of the torque rod that links the axle to the chassis. It plays a crucial role in isolating road shocks, reducing vibrations, and ensuring proper axle articulation, especially over rough terrain. Engineered to withstand high dynamic loads, the bush also contributes to controlling noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH).
Commenting on the launch, Harish Sheth, Chairman and Managing Director of Setco Automotive, said the introduction of these suspension products builds on the company’s recent entry into the engine cooling segment and reflects its continued commitment to delivering quality-driven solutions that address evolving customer needs.
Founded in 1982, Setco Automotive boasts a diverse product lineup including clutches, brake linings, flywheels, lubricants, and coolant systems. The company operates five manufacturing units and has an established global footprint across the US, UK, SAARC, and the Middle East.
