Hyundai Venue gets Bluelink Remote Immobiliser for anti-theft protection

New security feature allows owners to remotely immobilise parked vehicles through the Bluelink app; rollout begins with ccNC-equipped Venue and Venue N Line variants

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has introduced a Bluelink Remote Immobiliser for the Hyundai VENUE and VENUE N Line, adding a new layer of connected security aimed at preventing unauthorised vehicle restarts and enhancing theft protection.

The feature is currently available on the ccNC-equipped HX10 variant of the VENUE and N10 variant of the VENUE N Line. It will be introduced in phases across select existing Bluelink-equipped Hyundai models and will be offered as standard on upcoming connected Hyundai vehicles.

The remote immobiliser allows owners to activate the security function directly through the Hyundai Bluelink app. Once activated, the vehicle cannot be restarted after it has been switched off, including in situations where key cloning may be suspected.

In the event of suspected theft, owners can also activate the immobiliser remotely if it was not enabled when the vehicle was parked. Once the vehicle is switched off, it will remain immobilised. Hyundai has designed the system so that it does not stop or switch off a vehicle while it is moving, prioritising occupant safety.

The feature also works alongside live vehicle location tracking, subject to network connectivity, helping customers and law enforcement authorities locate the vehicle.

C-OTA Update Eliminates Workshop Visit

Hyundai has rolled out the feature using a Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA) update, leveraging the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) architecture of the VENUE and VENUE N Line.

Eligible vehicles sold since November 2025 can receive the feature remotely, eliminating the need for a workshop visit. The ccNC-equipped vehicles can receive C-OTA updates across up to 19 vehicle controllers, allowing Hyundai to introduce new features and software enhancements remotely.

From September 2026, the Bluelink Remote Immobiliser will be offered as standard on ccNC-equipped VENUE HX10 and VENUE N Line N10 variants.

The feature is currently also available on the Hyundai IONIQ 5, with a phased rollout planned for select existing Bluelink-equipped models and future connected Hyundai products.

Hyundai Bluelink Expands Connected Features

Hyundai said its Bluelink platform now powers more than eight lakh connected vehicles in India and is available across 11 of the 15 models in its current product portfolio.

The platform offers more than 70 connected features, including SOS and emergency assistance, auto-crash notifications, remote vehicle status, home-to-car connectivity, Hyundai Pay, Digital Key, Digital Passport and the ‘Find My Car’ function through the side-view monitor.

Bluelink-equipped models also offer up to 492 AI-powered voice commands and multilingual interface support across the digital cluster and infotainment system, although feature availability varies by model.

Tarun Garg, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India, said the company is continuing to strengthen its connected mobility ecosystem with features aimed at addressing evolving customer requirements.

He said the Bluelink Remote Immobiliser gives customers greater control and peace of mind by allowing them to remotely secure their parked vehicles and respond quickly to suspected theft, while built-in safeguards ensure that the vehicle is not immobilised while moving.

Garg also highlighted the feature as an example of the potential of Hyundai’s Software-Defined Vehicle architecture, enabling the company to introduce new capabilities through C-OTA updates without requiring customers to visit a workshop.

The remote immobiliser’s operation and live tracking capability are subject to factors including untampered wiring, uninterrupted vehicle power supply and network connectivity. Customers are advised to refer to Hyundai Bluelink’s terms and conditions for complete details.
