
Terra Charge, in partnership with the Airports Authority of India (AAI), unveiled Bhopal’s first airport EV charging hub at Raja Bhoj International Airport on November 29, 2024. Situated in the airport parking area, this hub aims to improve access to electric vehicle charging in the region. Spanning 75 square meters, the facility is equipped with a slow charger featuring Japanese technology and a 30-kW fast charger. It is capable of charging up to four electric vehicles simultaneously, catering to both public users and commercial fleets.
During the inauguration, Apurba Das Mohapatra, Business Director of Terra Charge, emphasized the significance of the collaboration with AAI. He expressed pride in advancing sustainable infrastructure and supporting electric mobility at such a key location as Bhopal’s airport. Mohapatra also recognized the contributions of AAI officials, including Ramjee Awasthi (Airport Director), K.P.S. Sikarwar (AGM Commercial), and Nidhi Shrivastava (Manager Commercial), for their pivotal role in the project’s realization. He highlighted the importance of this initiative in promoting electric vehicle adoption and enhancing convenience for EV owners.
The charging hub is already operational, providing EV owners and fleet operators in Bhopal with a convenient facility. The hub’s location can be accessed via the Terra Charge Mobile App. Terra Charge is also undertaking similar projects across India to expand the national charging network. With the electric vehicle market in India expected to reach USD 23.38 billion by 2024, the company is committed to supporting the government’s vision of sustainable transport and infrastructure growth.
