
Hyundai Motor India Limited marked a major milestone as it celebrated 30 glorious years in India, highlighting a journey defined by trust, pride, and continuous progress. Since its inception in 1996, the company has sold over 13.5 million units, including more than 9.6 million in the domestic market and over 3.9 million exported to 150 countries. This achievement reinforces India’s critical role in Hyundai’s global success and positions the country as a key manufacturing and export hub.
Over the past three decades, HMIL has consistently evolved as a youthful and forward-looking brand, driven by innovation and customer-centricity. The company has invested ₹40,700 crore in India since its inception and has outlined an ambitious ₹45,000 crore investment roadmap for FY26 to FY30. This investment will focus on expanding manufacturing capabilities, accelerating electrification, advancing future mobility solutions, and introducing 26 new products by FY2030.
Hyundai’s manufacturing footprint in India, anchored by its facilities in Chennai and Pune, is set to grow significantly. The company plans to scale its total annual production capacity to 10.74 lakh units by 2028, further strengthening India’s position as a global production and export base for Hyundai Motor Company.
In addition to its manufacturing strength, HMIL has built a robust after-sales ecosystem, with 1,675 service touchpoints spread across 1,025 cities and supported by more than 50,000 trained service professionals. This expansive network underscores the brand’s commitment to delivering exceptional customer care across the country.
The company has also demonstrated strong commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. It has achieved the RE100 benchmark by powering all its offices and manufacturing plants with 100% renewable energy. Through its corporate social responsibility initiatives, Hyundai impacts over 2 million lives annually, contributing to community development and social well-being.

He emphasized that Hyundai has played a significant role in advancing India’s mobility landscape and expressed confidence in the company’s future, driven by innovation, sustainability, and a strong commitment to shaping mobility solutions for India and the world.
