Hyundai Motor India Limited announced that its flagship electric SUV, the Hyundai IONIQ 5, participated in a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ attempt for the Greatest Altitude Change by an Electric Car. Driven by the Evo India team, the IONIQ 5 achieved a remarkable altitude change of 5802 meters, traveling from India’s highest drivable point, Umling La in Leh Ladakh (5799m above sea level), to Kuttanad in Kerala (3m below sea level).
The feat was completed in 14 days, covering over 4900 km through challenging terrains and extreme climates. The journey showcased the IONIQ 5’s resilience, advanced technology, and exceptional performance, navigating everything from freezing Himalayan temperatures to humid coastal regions.
