Lumax Revolutionizing Transmission Systems in India

The transmission products are designed and developed in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in India. Lumax Mannoh has plants catering to OEMs in Manesar-Haryana, Surendra Nagar-Gujarat, and Bengaluru-Karnataka and Lumax Jopp has recently set up a facility in Manesar next to Lumax Mannoh.

Lumax Auto Technologies Limited (Subsidiaries – Lumax Mannoh Allied Technologies Limited – relationship since 2007 (JV set up in 2014) and Lumax JOPP Allied Technologies Pvt. Limited – JV relationship since 2019); is now a complete Shift System Supplier for the Indian markets. The transmission products are designed and developed in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in India. Lumax Mannoh has plants catering to OEMs in Manesar-Haryana, Surendra Nagar-Gujarat, and Bengaluru-Karnataka and Lumax Jopp has recently set up a facility in Manesar next to Lumax Mannoh.

The state-of-the-art R&D Centre at Manesar-Gurugram has 60+ Engineers including Japanese Expat from Mannoh, Japan. The R&D centre has designed and productionised various kinds of Gear Shifting Levers with Knobs & Bezels. Prior to being manufactured the products have gone through stringent testing cycles at the in-house testing facility focusing on Environmental / Vibration / Noise / Durability / Static and other functional requirements. Till date Lumax Mannoh has filed 7 Patents and Published 5. The major customers of Lumax Mannoh have been Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Honda, M&M, ISUZU, Renault, TATA, Nissan, Ashok Leyland, SML ISUZU, Eicher, Force Motors, Daimler. The overseas customers include, MTAT, Suzuki Japan, Suzuki Indonesia, Nissan Indonesia, TVS Autoserve and Honda Indonesia, serviced through its partner Mannoh, Japan.

The company started with Gear Shifter Assembly and based on its performance and customer feedback, expanded its product offerings. This led to the incubation of a new JV company – Lumax Jopp. This is a joint venture between LATL and JOPP Group, Germany to manufacture and supply transmission sub assembly products like Control Housing, Shift Towers, Shifter Forks, Actuators, etc.

Lumax Jopp is new to the Indian market and has started developing localised products in a short span has been developing solutions for some of the major OEMs. To support the developments a German expert is also based at the facility.
