ZF India Pvt. Ltd. has entered into a strategic partnership with a prominent Indian commercial vehicle OEM to supply several thousand units of its manual and automated manual (AMT) 9-speed transmissions for trucks in the 1300Nm torque segment.
As part of the collaboration, ZF will deliver its EcoMid and EcoTronic Mid transmission systems, purpose-built for trucks above 25 tonnes. These solutions are engineered to enhance fuel efficiency, performance, and reliability in demanding commercial operations.
Strengthening its foothold in the high-torque segment, ZF is expanding its portfolio with 9-speed transmissions rated up to 1500Nm and 12-speed variants capable of handling 3200Nm, meeting the evolving needs of the commercial vehicle market.

The transmissions are being manufactured at the ZF Plant in Chakan, Pune and further highlights the market shift towards higher engine torque in Indian Commercial vehicle manufacturers.
