The Mahindra Treo electric three-wheeler auto rickshaw has been launched in Maharashtra. After FAME-II, state and early-bird subsidies, the Treo will cost customers Rs. 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) in the state.
In a media release the company said that Mahindra Treo is the number one electric 3- wheeler auto in India with a 67% market share and it can save an owner up to INR 2 lakh in 5 years compared to a CNG-fuelled three-wheeler. Powered by an advanced lithium-ion battery pack, Treo has a range of 130 km per charge. It can be charged anywhere through a 16 A socket using the onboard portable charger. The NEMO Mobility platform helps to remotely monitor vehicle range, geo-fence, track speed, and location, the release added.
Treo is available with a low down payment scheme of INR 41,500 from Mahindra Finance and a low interest rate scheme of 10.8% from State Bank of India. A customer can also avail of the attractive exchange bonus of INR 7,500 on Mahindra Treo.
Suman Mishra, CEO of Mahindra Electric Mobility Limited, said, “Maharashtra with its EV friendly policy has already taken the lead in electric mobility. With the launch of Mahindra Treo, I am certain that we will help transform Maharashtra’s last mile commute to a noise and pollution free ride, and enhance the livelihoods of its owners with substantial savings in total cost of ownership.”
Treo comes with a standard warranty of 3 years/80000 km along with the option of extended warranty of 5 years/100000 km. A large service network for electric three-wheelers, with about 300 outlets, is also available, the release added.
