After transitioning to an annual format in 2024, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo will return to a biennial schedule, with the next edition expected to take place from February 4 to 9, 2027, across multiple venues in the Delhi-NCR region.
The decision to revert to a biennial cycle is aimed at giving stakeholders more time to develop and present next-generation mobility innovations. Organizers also intend to broaden the event’s scope, with a greater emphasis on international collaborations and a more comprehensive showcase of the global mobility ecosystem.
The 2027 edition is likely to follow the same multi-venue format as the 2025 expo, spanning Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, and the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida.
Industry insiders see the move as a strategic step that will enhance the event’s impact, allowing for more meaningful participation and content. By avoiding an annual schedule that often yields limited new developments, the biennial format is expected to better reflect the pace of innovation in the mobility sector.
Global motor shows are losing relevance amid a changing automotive landscape, with major events like the Frankfurt, Geneva, and Detroit auto shows seeing reduced participation, media interest, and public turnout. This decline is driven by rising costs, the shift to digital launches, and a focus on direct consumer engagement.
Amid this global trend, India’s decision to host an annual auto show reflected its rising prominence in the global mobility market, having surpassed Japan as the third-largest car market. The 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, held from January 17 to 22, was a major success, drawing nearly one million visitors and over 1,500 exhibitors, and featuring 239 product launches focused on electric and sustainable mobility.
Looking ahead, the expo will adopt a biennial format, similar to past Motor Show schedules, while the Automechanika aftermarket show is set to take place in 2025.
