The government is launching Belagavi as the global hub for drones and electric vehicles (EV) by conducting the event DRoEV-2023 on March 24. As part of the Beyond Bengaluru concept, the event will be held under the aegis of the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), which aims to develop industries in different parts of the state.
According to KDEM sources, the idea behind the event is basically to push the industry already existing in Belagavi and create more collaborations with national and international players. This is so that Belagavi could be developed as a global hub for the drone and EV industry.
There are already component manufacturers for both industries in Belagavi, where the industry has been developed from the ground up. There are many success stories too. If both industries are pushed further in Belagavi, the results will multiply in a short period.
The event will be a daylong, power-packed programme with over 200 participants comprising industry leaders, policymakers, the research and development community and startups. Around 20 stakeholders and sector experts will share their stories.
Belagavi has already provided a fertile ecosystem for many emerging start-ups across the EV and drone industry. Considering the capabilities of Belagavi, KDEM will create a new industry cluster and host the launch event – DroEV-2023.
According to industry reports, the Indian EV and drone market is expected to grow at a CAGR (Compound annual growth rate) of 50% and 10% respectively in the next five years, which raises hope. The objective of this event will be to position Belagavi on the global map for drones and EVs. Besides, invite global investors to interact with local industries, partners, and the supply chain.
Additionally, it is a great opportunity to showcase local talents, intellectual property, products, and innovation, as well as facilitate a conducive manufacturing environment.
