2023 Honda Hornet 2.0 launched at Rs 1.39 lakh

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the 2023 Hornet 2.0. The latest iteration of the Hornet 2.0, which is OBD2-compliant, is priced at INR 1. 39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). HMSI is offering a special 10-year warranty package, comprising a 3-year standard warranty and an optional 7-year extension, the company said.

Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President and CEO, HMSI, highlighted how the company has been dedicatedly upgrading its product lineup to adhere to the latest norms. The 2023 Hornet 2.0 launch marks a milestone in this journey and further solidifies the model’s market position.

Yogesh Mathur, the Director of Sales & Marketing, HMSI, said that the motorcycle draws inspiration from the aspirations of modern riders and their fervour for motorcycle riding. The 2023 Hornet 2.0 is an embodiment of Honda’s racing heritage fused with the exhilaration of street riding, resonating with the ambitions of young motorcycle enthusiasts, he added.

The 2023 Hornet 2.0 boasts a commanding design marked by modern graphics. The dynamic forward-leaning aerodynamics and robust fuel tank shape reinforce the motorcycle’s road dominance. The company has also incorporated an all-LED lighting system — from the LED headlamp to the XShaped LED tail lamp. The sporty split seat and conveniently placed key on the tank further accentuate the street fighter character.

The motorcycle’s sporty demeanour is amplified by design elements like the short muffler and ten-spoke alloy wheels and aluminium finished foot pegs. The 2023 Hornet 2.0 is driven by a robust 184.40cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder BSVI OBD2-compliant PGM-FI engine. This engine not only adheres to stricter emission norms but also incorporates advanced technology. The motorcycle utilizes multiple sensors to monitor components affecting emission performance. Any detected malfunction triggers a warning light on the instrument panel, ensuring prompt attention to potential issues.

The latest update features an assist and slipper clutch, optimizing upshifts and preventing rear wheel lock-ups during aggressive downshifts. The introduction of a Golden Up-side Down (USD) front fork is a notable first for the sub-200cc motorcycle segment, enhancing both technology and visual appeal.
