Eicher Motors has announced a series of key leadership changes, appointing Vinod Kumar Aggarwal as Executive Vice-Chairman in the role of Executive Director, while also naming Pradeep Mathew as Chief of Product Development at Royal Enfield. Aggarwal’s appointment will take effect from May 21, 2026, for a three-year term, subject to shareholder approval.
A veteran of the automotive industry with more than 45 years of experience, Aggarwal has spent over four decades with the Eicher Group in several strategic leadership positions. His previous roles include Chief Financial Officer of the Eicher Group between 2005 and 2009, President of Eicher Trucks and Buses, and leadership of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) for over 16 years — first as CEO and later as CEO & Managing Director.
Earlier this year, from April 1, 2026, Aggarwal was appointed Non-Executive Chairman of VECV as a nominee of Eicher Motors. He has also served as President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and the Automotive Skills Development Council. Aggarwal joined the Eicher Motors board as a Non-Executive Director in April 2019 and was elevated to Non-Executive Vice Chairman in February 2025.
In a parallel development, Eicher Motors announced the appointment of Pradeep Mathew as Chief of Product Development and Senior Management Personnel, effective May 22, 2026. Mathew has been associated with the company for over 22 years and currently leads Royal Enfield’s product development operations across its technology centres in India and the United Kingdom.
A postgraduate in Mechanical Engineering from PSG Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, Mathew joined the organisation immediately after completing his M.Tech and has since worked across multiple functions within the company. According to Eicher Motors, his deep expertise in emerging and future technologies will play a crucial role in strengthening Royal Enfield’s focus on innovation and global product development capabilities.
