JSW Motors Limited, the new energy passenger vehicle arm of the JSW Group, has appointed Pankaj Doval as Senior Vice President – Corporate Affairs & Public Policy. In his new role, he will lead the company’s engagement with central and state governments, regulatory and policy institutions and industry bodies, and will oversee corporate affairs and stakeholder advocacy across the organisation.
The appointment comes at a defining phase for JSW Motors as the company moves towards launch of its new energy vehicles while scaling up its greenfield manufacturing facility at Bidkin, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra. The scale-up spans policy, regulatory and industrial development priorities, and making sustained engagement with government and policy stakeholders.
Doval joins JSW Motors after a career spanning nearly three decades in business journalism, most recently as National Editor at The Times of India. Over an extended tenure with the Times Group, he rose through senior editorial positions, including Senior Assistant Editor in the Corporate and Economy Bureau and Senior Editor, leading national coverage of the automobile, technology, telecom and IT sectors as well as trade, industrial policy and the wider corporate economy.
Earlier in his career, he worked with The Financial Express newspaper and domestic news wires Press Trust of India (PTI) and United News of India (UNI). Across these roles, his work has consistently tracked the intersection of business strategy, regulation and public policy in India.
A graduate of Delhi University, Doval has a Master’s in Political Science as well as Mass Communications while also having a postgraduate certificate in international journalism from Seoul National University.
He brings to the role a combination of institutional insight, stakeholder access and communication judgement, built over a career reporting on the industries, regulators and policy institutions he will now engage on the company’s behalf.
