Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd (Sona Comstar) has appointed Jeffrey Mark Overly as its new Chairn, effective June 23, following the untimely passing of former Chairman Sunjay Kapur on June 12 in the UK.
Overly has been an Independent Director on the company’s board since February 2021, actively contributing to all board and committee meetings—even across time zones—and playing a key role in strategic decisions over the past five years.
With 43 years of operational experience, Overly holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s in business from Central Michigan University.
Until retiring from Blackstone Group in 2018, Jeffrey Mark Overly served as an Operating Partner in its Corporate Private Equity Group in New York. He continues to sit on the boards of several Blackstone portfolio companies, advising on lean operations, supply chain enhancements, and strategic initiatives across global businesses.
Prior to joining Blackstone in 2008, Overly was Vice President of Global Fixture Operations at Kohler Company, where he led worldwide manufacturing and supply chain functions. He also spent 25 years at General Motors and Delphi Corporation in various global operations and engineering roles.
In addition to his new role at Sona Comstar, Overly currently serves as an Independent Director on the boards of Performance Food Group, Fortrex Inc. Ltd. (formerly Packer Sanitation Services Inc.), Comstar Automotive USA LLC (a Sona Comstar subsidiary), Sabre Industries Inc., and Supply One Inc.
