Volkswagen to Increase Prices for Virtus, Taigun, Tiguan Models

Volkswagen Passenger Cars India will raise prices by up to 2% for models including Virtus, Taigun, and Tiguan from January 1, 2024, attributing the increase to escalating input and material costs. The brand continues to offer year-end benefits on its cars in December.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars India has announced a price hike of up to 2% for its models, including the popular Virtus, Taigun, and Tiguan. The increase, set to take effect from January 1, 2024, is attributed to the continuous rise in input and material costs.

A spokesperson from the company stated, “Effective January 1, 2024, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India plans to hike prices by up to 2% across its model range owing to rising input and material costs. While the brand continues to absorb most of the input cost increase, however, some impact will have to be passed on to the end consumers.”

Current Pricing and Year-End Benefits

As of now, the Volkswagen Virtus is priced between Rs 11.48 lakh and Rs 19.29 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Taigun falls within the range of Rs 11.62 lakh to Rs 19.76 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tiguan, available in a single variant, is priced at Rs 35.17 lakh (ex-showroom).

To provide customers with additional value during the year-end, Volkswagen is offering significant benefits on its models in December:

  • Volkswagen Taigun: Up to Rs 1.91 lakh
  • Volkswagen Tiguan: Up to Rs 4.20 lakh
