In response to Cyclone Michaung, leading car manufacturers such as Maruti, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, and Toyota are rolling out relief measures, including emergency assistance, financial relief, and extended support for affected customers.

As Cyclone Michaung wreaks havoc in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, major automotive players step forward to aid affected communities and support their customers. Maruti Suzuki India, Hyundai Motor India, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Toyota Kirloskar Motor have unveiled comprehensive relief and assistance measures.

Maruti Suzuki India: Mobilizing Resources for Quick Response

Maruti Suzuki India has taken proactive steps to assist its customers. The company sent out 700,000 SMS alerts containing precautionary measures and collaborated with dealer partners to ensure support. Mobilizing 46 tow trucks, activating 34 roadside assistance vehicles, augmenting spare parts inventory, pooling trained manpower, and expediting insurance claims are among the measures implemented for swift response and recovery.

Hyundai Motor India: Aiding Communities with Rs 3 Crore Relief Package

Hyundai Motor India, through its CSR arm, pledges a relief package of Rs 3 crore to aid communities in Tamil Nadu. The company’s onsite teams collaborate with state authorities for emergency relief, including food, water, shelter, medical assistance, and essential commodities. Hyundai established a ‘Relief Task Force’ for close coordination with district administrations and enhanced service support for flood-affected customers.

Tata Motors: Extending Support Through Warranty and Assistance

Tata Motors announces extensions for standard warranty, extended warranty, annual maintenance contracts, and free service periods for vehicles in the cyclone-affected region. The extension, applicable to contracts expiring between December 1, 2023, and December 15, 2023, aims to provide support until December 31, 2023. The company sets up an emergency road assistance team, a 24×7 helpdesk, and offers free towing assistance.

Mahindra & Mahindra: Complimentary Assistance and Financial Relief

Mahindra & Mahindra rolls out complimentary roadside assistance, no-cost inspection, damage assessment, and special discounts for customers impacted by Cyclone Michaung. The support services are available until December 31, 2023. As a preventive measure, the company advises customers whose SUVs were submerged against starting their vehicles.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor: Rapid Response and Vehicle Servicing

Toyota Kirloskar Motor, in collaboration with its dealer partners, establishes emergency helpline numbers and designated personnel for immediate assistance. Dealer outlets facilitate vehicle pickup and drop services at customers’ doorsteps. Specially-equipped Hilux vehicles aid in the rescue and transportation of submerged cars to Toyota dealer outlets for repairs and servicing.
