
Bentley Motors has officially inaugurated its cutting-edge Excellence Centre for Quality & Launch. The facility, unveiled by Gunnar Kilian, Member of the Board of Management at Volkswagen AG, alongside Bentley’s Board of Management, will play a crucial role in preparing for the brand’s first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). Set to debut next year, the world’s first Urban Luxury SUV marks a major milestone in the transformation of Bentley’s historic 85-year-old site as it embraces the era of electrification.
As part of its industry-leading Beyond100+ strategy, Bentley is reimagining its entire product lineup to align with an electrified future. The newly established digital, zero-environmental-impact manufacturing and quality center will drive innovation, incorporating advanced technologies to develop Bentley’s first BEV and setting a new benchmark for best-in-class luxury automobiles.
The Excellence Centre for Quality & Launch is located across two floors, covering a total of 8,000 sqm. The centre houses a production proving ground and a mini assembly line to test future BEV assembly. It also includes a technical centre for future materials testing, high precision dimensional measurement, vehicle analysis and reliability. All dedicated to ensuring the quality, performance and longevity expected of every luxury car.
Andreas Lehe, Bentley’s Member of the Board for Manufacturing, highlighted the significance of the new facility, stating, “The Excellence Centre for Quality & Launch is a fundamental pillar in the successful execution of our Beyond100+ strategy. This state-of-the-art facility marks a major milestone in transforming our historic Crewe site into a global benchmark for sustainable luxury automotive production.”
He added, “Designed as a collaborative workspace for both the Quality & Launch teams, the new facility will be instrumental in maintaining Bentley’s renowned standards of quality, precision, and craftsmanship as we embark on delivering our first fully electric vehicle.”
