BYD reaches 17 million NEV production milestone

BYD has become the world's first automaker to produce 17 million new energy vehicles, with the Seal 08 marking the milestone. The achievement comes as the company continues its rapid global expansion, recording more than 1.8 million vehicle sales and a 68% rise in overseas deliveries during the first half of the year.

BYD has achieved a major milestone in the global new energy vehicle (NEV) industry by rolling out its 17 millionth NEV from its Xi’an manufacturing facility. The landmark vehicle is the newly introduced BYD Seal 08, the company’s flagship family sedan, making BYD the first automaker in the world to produce 17 million new energy vehicles.

The achievement underscores BYD’s rapid growth and leadership in the NEV market, driven by its strong technological capabilities, broad product lineup, and expanding global presence. As competition intensifies and consolidation continues across the electric mobility sector, the company has maintained its market position through sustained innovation and large-scale manufacturing.

During the first half of the year, BYD reported cumulative vehicle sales of 1,808,511 units. Overseas deliveries of passenger vehicles and pickup trucks reached 789,367 units, representing a 68% year-on-year increase, highlighting the brand’s accelerating international expansion and growing demand across global markets.
