Hyundai Motor Group showcased its advanced hydrogen ecosystem vision for Europe at the World Hydrogen Summit 2026 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. During the event, the Group demonstrated its end-to-end hydrogen value chain, including hydrogen production, infrastructure solutions, fuel cell technologies, and various applications that go beyond the mobility sector.
At the summit, Hyundai Motor Group highlighted its long-term hydrogen strategy through HTWO, the company’s dedicated hydrogen brand and business platform. The display underlined the Group’s ambition to build a sustainable hydrogen-powered future by integrating the complete hydrogen ecosystem — from production and storage to transportation and diverse industrial applications.
The exhibition showcased several key innovations from Hyundai Motor Group, including:
The all-new NEXO: The next-generation successor to the world’s best-selling fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV), the all-new NEXO reinforces Hyundai Motor’s leadership in hydrogen mobility while reflecting the Group’s extensive expertise in fuel cell technology.
Hydrogen fuel cell systems: Developed for applications beyond transportation, these advanced systems demonstrate the Group’s capability to support stationary power generation, industrial operations, and integration with existing energy infrastructure.
By presenting both the all-new NEXO and its hydrogen fuel cell systems, Hyundai Motor Group emphasized its evolution from a pioneer in hydrogen mobility to a broader player driving the development of a complete hydrogen ecosystem.
“Our goal is to become a reliable partner in Europe’s hydrogen journey. We see hydrogen not as a stand-alone technology, but as a key enabler for cleaner mobility, resilient energy systems, and new industrial opportunities. Europe has ambitious hydrogen plans, and we bring experience from successful deployments that can help turn these plans into robust ecosystems. Hyundai Motor Group has accumulated extensive real-world experience with hydrogen across the entire value chain in Korea. We now want to bring this system-level expertise to Europe, with proven technologies, industry-leading expertise, and the willingness to build lasting relationships with policymakers, industry, and infrastructure partners.” – Mark Freymüller, CEO of Hyundai Energy & Hydrogen Europe.
In Europe, the Group is widely recognized for its pioneering role in hydrogen mobility, particularly through the NEXO FCEV and the XCIENT Fuel Cell truck. At the Summit, the Group builds on this strong heritage to outline a broader ambition: to develop sustainable hydrogen ecosystems in collaboration with European partners across sectors, underscoring its long-term commitment to the region.
As Europe accelerates its hydrogen transition, the Group aims to contribute its practical experience from Korea to support the development of sustainable hydrogen ecosystems across European markets.
