The Kia EV3 has claimed the top honor at the 2025 World Car Awards, earning the title of 2025 World Car of the Year. The announcement was made live during the awards ceremony at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, where the EV3 stood out as the overall winner among global contenders.
“It is an immense honor for everyone at Kia that the EV3 has been awarded the 2025 World Car of Year title. This award highlights Kia’s global leadership in providing design-led, technologically advanced, sustainable mobility solutions and how the EV3’s class-leading attributes redefine the user experience for customers worldwide,” said Ho Sung Song, President and CEO at Kia.
The Kia EV3 has been named the 2025 World Car of the Year, awarded by a panel of 96 esteemed automotive journalists from 30 countries as part of the World Car Awards. This win marks Kia’s sixth World Car Award since 2020, reinforcing its strong global presence in the electric vehicle space.
Inspired by the flagship Kia EV9, the EV3 brings advanced electric innovation to the compact SUV segment. It features a bold exterior design, a highly functional and spacious interior, and a segment-leading range of up to 605 km. Charging from 10 to 80 percent takes just 31 minutes, offering excellent day-to-day usability.
Key technologies include Kia’s AI Assistant, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, enhancing the driving experience with smart connectivity and convenience.
Kia has earned multiple accolades at the World Car Awards in recent years, including double wins for the EV9 in 2024 (World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle), recognition for the EV6 GT in 2023 (World Performance Car), and two titles in 2020 for the Telluride (World Car of the Year) and Soul EV (World Urban Car).
