The new Škoda Elroq has earned the prestigious Red Dot Award for exceptional product design—one of the most renowned international design competitions. This all-electric compact SUV is the first production vehicle to fully embody Škoda’s new Modern Solid design language, defined by its robust, functional, and authentic styling. The Elroq’s recognition continues Škoda’s strong legacy in design excellence, marking the brand’s 18th Red Dot Award to date.
“With the Elroq, our design team has successfully preserved key elements of Škoda’s signature style while introducing fresh ideas and striking visual features, such as the high-gloss black Tech-Deck Face,” said Oliver Stefani, Head of Škoda Auto Design. “This award is a testament to the incredible creativity and hard work of our team. I’m truly grateful to everyone who played a part in shaping the Elroq’s distinctive appearance.”
A standout element of the new Modern Solid design language showcased on the front of the Škoda Elroq is the high-gloss black Tech-Deck Face, which replaces the traditional radiator grille. Positioned above it is the sculpted bonnet, featuring a Škoda wordmark finished in Unique Dark Chrome—another hallmark of the updated design philosophy. The Elroq’s sleek, narrow headlights reinterpret the iconic four-eyed look of Škoda’s SUV lineup with a minimalist and functional approach.
Depending on the trim level, a newly introduced Light Band visually connects the LED-equipped main headlights. Higher-spec variants come fitted with advanced LED Matrix beam headlights. At the rear, the slim, precisely defined lights continue the Modern Solid theme with a clean, 2D minimalist aesthetic.
Beyond its visual appeal, the design also excels in performance. Thanks to a series of thoughtful aerodynamic enhancements, the Elroq achieves an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.26—underscoring the seamless fusion of form and function.
The Škoda Elroq has won the Red Dot Award for outstanding product design, adding to the brand’s impressive tally of 18 Red Dot Awards. Judged by a panel of 43 international design experts, the award recognizes excellence in innovation, functionality, ergonomics, and sustainability. The Elroq’s Modern Solid design language, highlighted by features like the Tech-Deck Face and minimalist LED lighting, has been well received by both experts and customers. By March, over 45,000 orders were placed across 30 markets, reflecting strong demand for affordable electric SUVs. The official award ceremony will take place on 8 July in Essen, Germany.
