JK Tyre receives Mahatma Award for CSR Excellence and Social Impact

As part of its CSR initiatives, JK Tyre runs various programs focused on education, healthcare, environment, and water conservation.

JK Tyre & Industries, one of India’s leading tyre manufacturers, has been awarded the prestigious Mahatma Award 2024 for ‘CSR Excellence and Social Impact.’ The award ceremony took place in New Delhi on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 155th birth anniversary.

The award was presented by Dr. Kiran Bedi, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, to Anil K Makkar, Group Chief Sustainability Officer of JK Organisation and Manufacturing Director of JK Tyre. This recognition underscores the company’s significant contributions to social welfare through its wide-ranging CSR programs.

JK Tyre’s CSR initiatives span education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and water conservation. Key programs include scholarships, the adoption of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), adult literacy projects, skill development, support for self-help groups, and reproductive and child healthcare services.

Anuj Kathuria, President (India) of JK Tyre & Industries, expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the company’s commitment to improving the lives of marginalized communities. He reaffirmed JK Tyre’s focus on sustainable and socially responsible practices.

The Mahatma Award, inspired by the principles of Mahatma Gandhi, is organized by the Mahatma Foundation in collaboration with the Aditya Birla Group and Liveweek Group. It honors organizations from various sectors that demonstrate a strong commitment to social impact and sustainability.
