BKT strengthens on-road tyre development with new testing facility at NATRAX, Indore

Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) has inaugurated a new Vehicle Dynamics & Testing (VD&T) facility at NATRAX, Indore, marking its strategic entry into the on-road tyre segment, including PCR, CVR, and 2-Wheeler tyres. Equipped with advanced machinery and an expert R&D team, the facility will support real-world testing and product innovation for Indian and global markets.

Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT), a global leader in the Off-Highway Tyre (OHT) segment, has inaugurated its dedicated Vehicle Dynamics & Testing (VD&T) facility at the National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX) in Indore—Asia’s second-largest and longest automotive testing track. The inauguration, led by Satish Sharma, Senior President & Director – Business Development and Strategy at BKT, marks a strategic move into the on-road vehicle tyre segment, including Passenger Car Radial (PCR), Commercial Vehicle Radial (CVR), and 2-Wheeler categories.

Equipped with advanced machinery and supported by a specialized R&D team, the facility will enable real-world testing and product development, reinforcing BKT’s commitment to delivering world-class tyres for both Indian and global markets.

The VD&T base will serve as a hub for advanced testing and validation, allowing BKT to accelerate product development, ensure reliability, enhance performance, and address the evolving needs of both Indian and global consumers. By leveraging NATRAX’s world-class infrastructure, BKT reinforces its commitment to delivering high-quality, innovative tyres across all mobility segments.

With access to NATRAX, BKT can test tyres across real-world scenarios, from ride and handling to comfort, braking, durability, and even off-road terrain. These capabilities are critical for both Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and the replacement market, ensuring tyres meet stringent global benchmarks while giving everyday consumers the confidence of world-class quality.
