Kazam and HPCL partner to expand EV charging access across India

More than 5,350 HPCL chargers, including 3,043 DC fast chargers at strategic locations, have been integrated into Kazam’s OCPI-enabled app platform, providing improved visibility, multi-protocol interoperability, and advanced backend monitoring to support reliable and scalable charging operations.

Kazam, India’s leading EV energy solutions provider, announced a landmark partnership with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) to accelerate public EV charging access nationwide. This collaboration integrates over 5,350 HPCL EV chargers, including 3,043 DC fast chargers strategically located across highways, major cities, and key retail outlets that have been integrated into the Kazam app via its OCPI-powered platform.

This integration allows EV users across India to see, explore, and navigate HPCL’s expanding charging network in real time. Make EV charging easier and more convenient than it has ever been. As part of the Government of India’s PM eDrive scheme, HPCL, which runs a network of more than 24,000 fuel retail locations, is quickly growing its EV charging infrastructure, demonstrating its dedication to decarbonizing mobility and assisting India’s shift to sustainable transportation.

“Kazam’s OCPI platform will ensure seamless aggregation and real-time visibility of HPCL chargers, enabling EV users to discover, navigate, and charge at HPCL stations effortlessly. This partnership will enhance India’s public EV charging ecosystem. It marks a decisive step in the country’s transition to sustainable mobility, uniting one of India’s largest energy companies with one of its fastest-growing EV innovators,” said Paras Shah, COO of Kazam.

Partnering with Kazam is a key step in expanding India’s EV charging ecosystem. By using Kazam’s innovative platform, we can provide EV users with easier access, reliable operations, and a seamless charging experience for the customers. This partnership shows HPCL’s dedication to reducing carbon emissions in transportation, supporting the Government of India’s PM eDrive initiative, and speeding up the adoption of clean and sustainable transport. By working together, we are looking to make EV charging accessible, convenient, and user-friendly, helping to build a greener and smarter future for India’s transportation sector,” said Kushal Kumar Banerjee, Chief General Manager at HPCL, India.

In addition to enhanced visibility, Kazam’s OCPI platform provides interoperability with multiple charging protocols and advanced backend monitoring for charge point operators (CPOs) and e-mobility service providers (eMSPs), ensuring reliable operations and scalable growth.
