
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), in partnership with Animation Express, successfully concluded the Mumbai edition of Anime India 2026, held from August 28 to 30 at the NESCO Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.
The three-day event attracted more than 45,000 anime enthusiasts, gamers, cosplayers, creators and pop-culture fans, providing TKM with a platform to connect with Gen Z and young millennial audiences through experiences rooted in Japanese pop culture.
Through its participation, TKM aimed to create culturally relevant and engaging interactions with younger audiences while strengthening its brand connection and affinity among the rapidly growing anime and pop-culture community in India.
At Anime India 2026 Mumbai, TKM showcased the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Toyota Glanza and Urban Cruiser Taisor featuring specially designed ‘Attack on Titan’ inspired wraps, making them one of the standout attractions at the event. The flagship Toyota booth also hosted multiple engagement activities, including a spin-the-wheel, stamp rally and quiz competition, creating an immersive on-ground experience for attendees.
Recognized as one of India’s leading anime conventions, Anime India has attracted over 1 lakh Gen Z attendees across its last three editions. The platform celebrates licensed anime, manga, gaming and Japanese popular culture, bringing together fans, cosplayers, creators and international industry participants from across the country. Through such initiatives, Toyota Kirloskar Motor continues to explore relevant engagement platforms to connect with evolving customer communities and younger audiences across India.
The Mumbai edition featured international guests including Hayato Date, the legendary director of Naruto, ASCA, known for theme songs from Sword Art Online and Fate/Apocrypha, Luna Gaomi, Yura Akari and J-Pop duo Mofmofmo. The event also offered dedicated zones inspired by Demon Slayer, Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen and Doraemon, alongside a Pokémon Champions booth, Japanese cultural experiences, cosplay and anime competitions with over 100 exhibitors, delivering larger than life, pop-culture experience for fans.
