Lubricant manufacturer MANNOL has unveiled Molibden Ultra 5W-30, a next-generation fully synthetic engine oil developed to enhance efficiency and engine protection. Formulated with advanced molybdenum technology, the new oil significantly reduces friction and wear, ensuring dependable performance in modern turbocharged and direct-injection engines compliant with Euro V and Euro VI emission standards—even under extended service intervals.
The formulation features an innovative additive package based on organic molybdenum, which creates a durable protective film on critical metal surfaces. This layer minimises direct metal-to-metal contact, lowering stress on high-load engine components and contributing to longer engine life. The oil’s distinctive green colour is a visual hallmark of its molybdenum-based chemistry, making Molibden Ultra 5W-30 instantly identifiable.
Organic Molybdenum for Tangible Efficiency
The performance of MANNOL Molibden Ultra 5W-30 relies on a unique combination of organic molybdenum and a shear-stable viscosity modifier. The additive package creates a stable lubricating film, lowering friction and mitigating wear even under high RPMs and temperatures. This provides targeted relief to particularly stressed areas such as turbocharger bearings and timing chains. Simultaneously, the injection system, piston rings, and valves remain clean throughout the entire oil change interval.
The oil fulfills the performance requirements of API SQ, ILSAC GF-7A, ACEA C2/C3, and GM dexos1™ Gen 3. These specifications represent, among other benefits, protection against LSPI (Low Speed Pre-Ignition) in turbocharged direct-injection gasoline engines, reduced timing chain wear, high fuel efficiency, and consistently clean combustion chambers.
Thanks to Mid-SAPS technology, MANNOL Molibden Ultra 5W-30 is compatible with all common exhaust aftertreatment systems (DPF, GPF, TWC, EGR, SCR). Its high shear stability maintains consistent viscosity even under load. Consequently, the oil is engineered for modern Euro V and Euro VI gasoline and diesel engines—including turbocharged direct-injection models.
Dmitry Roskach, Chief Technology Officer at MANNOL, said, “Modern turbocharged engines operate under extremely high pressures and temperatures, alongside increasingly extended maintenance intervals. These demands were central to the development of MANNOL Molibden Ultra 5W-30. Its advanced molybdenum formulation reduces wear while helping prevent critical phenomena such as low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) in today’s direct-injection engines.”
MANNOL’s Technology Portfolio
MANNOL Molibden Ultra 5W-30 is part of the brand’s technological evolution, building on over three decades of research in friction modifiers.
In addition to the new molybdenum formulation, the portfolio already includes:
- SCT-ESTER™ Technology: Polar Group V esters adhere firmly to metal, forming a stable lubricating film across the entire temperature window—from cold starts to sustained high loads.
- Ceramic Line: High-performance oils featuring hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN, ‘white graphite’). h-BN acts as an ultra-fine protective layer between friction partners, reducing wear and ensuring smooth operation even under heavy stress.
These technologies embody the MANNOL approach: Efficiency through tribological precision—adapted to real-world operating conditions, from winter cold starts to long-distance endurance.
