VinFast demand surges as 3,520 EV orders processed in one day

VinFast processed 3,520 electric vehicle orders in a single day, setting a new record for Vietnam’s automotive industry. The milestone reflects strong EV demand supported by charging infrastructure expansion and growing consumer confidence.

VinFast reported processing 3,520 electric vehicle orders in a single day on March 28, 2026, setting what the company described as a new daily order-processing record for Vietnam’s automotive industry. The pace equates to around 146 orders per hour, or approximately 2.4 vehicles every minute, underscoring strong demand and operational capacity.

According to the company, all vehicles covered under these orders have been fully processed and are ready for dispatch from its manufacturing facility, with deliveries scheduled through VinFast’s nationwide dealer network.

To put the achievement in perspective, the 3,520 units processed in a single day exceed the monthly sales volumes of several automakers currently operating in Vietnam. VinFast has maintained its position as the country’s top-selling automotive brand since 2024. In 2025, the company delivered 175,099 vehicles, including a record-breaking 27,649 units sold in December alone — the highest monthly sales recorded by a single brand in the Vietnamese market.

Infrastructure Expansion Supporting Demand

Industry observers attribute VinFast’s continued growth partly to its aggressive investment in charging infrastructure. V-Green, the company’s global charging infrastructure partner, has outlined plans to deploy approximately 150,000 charging ports across 34 provinces and cities in Vietnam. Additionally, 99 ultra-fast charging hubs equipped with 150 kW chargers are planned along key national and provincial highways to support long-distance electric mobility.

The ecosystem is further supported by more than 400 service workshops, strengthening after-sales support and improving ownership confidence.

Transportation planning expert Dr. Lê Hoàng Nam noted that a well-developed ownership ecosystem — spanning vehicles, charging access, and servicing — plays a critical role in accelerating EV adoption. He also highlighted environmental benefits, including reduced emissions and lower dependence on fossil fuels, as additional drivers of consumer interest.

Positive Market Sentiment

Reactions across Vietnamese online forums have largely been positive. Some commentators highlighted that processing more than 3,500 orders on a weekend reflects strong operational coordination across production, logistics, and dealer networks. Others pointed to fuel price volatility as a key factor driving consumers toward electric alternatives, suggesting the shift represents a broader transition toward cleaner mobility solutions.

While VinFast has not yet released its full-year 2026 sales forecast, analysts tracking the company’s growth trajectory believe additional milestones could be achieved if current demand trends continue.
