The KYT Helmets R1R, the brand’s race-derived full-face racing helmet developed with direct input from its MotoGP racing programme, has been officially launched in India with prices starting at Rs 39,000. First revealed at India Bike Week, the R1R now enters the market as a premium, race-focused offering for riders seeking uncompromising performance, advanced safety, and true race-bred engineering.
Engineered with MotoGP DNA
Designed and engineered in Italy using advanced digital development tools, the R1R has been refined through over three years of wind tunnel testing, alongside extensive road and track validation. The helmet is built to deliver maximum aerodynamic stability across multiple riding conditions, including high-speed straights, aggressive braking, and cornering, making it equally suited for the track and high-performance road riding.
Advanced Construction & Safety
At the core of the R1R is its tricomposite shell construction, combining carbon fibre, aramid fibre, and fibreglass to achieve an optimal balance of strength, impact resistance, and lightweight performance. This is complemented by a multi-density EPS liner, engineered for progressive energy absorption across different impact zones.
The helmet is certified to ECE 22.06 homologation, meeting the latest and most stringent European safety standards, including improved real-world impact testing parameters.
Aerodynamics and Ventilation Optimised for Performance
The R1R’s aerodynamic profile is the result of extensive wind tunnel development, ensuring reduced drag and enhanced high-speed stability. Its ventilation system is designed for performance riding, with integrated intake channels working in conjunction with the rear spoiler and Venturi-effect extraction system to deliver efficient airflow and heat dissipation.
Inside, the helmet features Hydrocool technical fabric, engineered to rapidly dissipate heat, manage moisture, and maintain rider comfort during intense riding conditions.
Race-Spec Visor Technology
A standout feature of the R1R is its advanced visor system, offering an expansive 210-degree horizontal and 90-degree vertical field of view, ensuring maximum situational awareness on both road and track. The visor delivers Optical Class 1 clarity and incorporates a rototranslation mechanism that enhances sealing and structural integrity.
A metal alloy Racing Lock System ensures secure closure at high speeds, reducing the risk of accidental opening during impact scenarios. The helmet features a Pinlock-ready visor, with the anti-fog insert sold separately. Customers can also choose from a selection of tinted visors as optional accessories.
Commenting on the launch, Ajit Bharadwaj, Director at House of Machines, said,
“The R1R represents everything KYT stands for, pure racing DNA, uncompromising safety, and performance-driven design. With this launch, we are bringing a true MotoGP-developed helmet to Indian riders who demand the very best, whether on the track or the road. It marks a significant step in strengthening KYT’s presence in India’s premium riding gear segment.”
