
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has expanded its CSR-led skill development efforts with the launch of a new Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) center at the Siliguri Institute of Technology in West Bengal. The initiative is aimed at enhancing youth employability and strengthening India’s automotive talent ecosystem through industry-oriented technical training.
The launch event was attended by Shri Satyam Roy Chowdhury, Founder & Managing Director of Techno India Group, Mr Joydeep Guha, Director, Techno India Group, Dr Anindya Basu, Principal of Siliguri Institute of Technology, along with senior officials from Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
The newly inaugurated T-TEP center will provide training in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, with an annual intake capacity of 180 students. The program is designed to equip students with practical exposure and industry-relevant technical skills to support career opportunities in the automotive and allied sectors.
As part of this CSR-led initiative, TKM will provide comprehensive training support, including Service Skills training and specialized Body & Mind modules focused on discipline, teamwork, and workplace readiness, along with access to structured, industry-aligned learning materials. Designed for final-year ITI and Diploma students, the year-long program integrates classroom instruction with practical exposure through On-the-Job Training (OJT) at authorized Toyota dealerships. The curriculum is aligned with evolving industry needs to ensure students acquire future-ready skills.
Aligned with the Government of India’s Skill India Mission, the initiative contributes to national priorities of building a future-ready workforce. By enabling access to quality technical education and hands-on industry exposure, TKM aims to create long-term socio-economic impact, particularly by enhancing career opportunities for youth from diverse and underserved communities.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has consistently championed skill development through initiatives such as the Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI) and T-TEP. Since its inception in 2006, the T-TEP program has trained more than 14,000 students across India, with over 70% of graduates securing employment with automobile manufacturers and authorized dealerships across the country.
