Yamaha FZ Blue Flex launched in India with E20–E85 Compatibility

The flex-fuel motorcycle supports ethanol blends from E20 to E85 and is powered by a 149cc fuel-injected engine. It combines familiar FZ styling with modern features while supporting India's biofuel adoption and sustainability goals.

India Yamaha Motor has expanded its alternative-fuel portfolio with the launch of the Yamaha FZ Blue Flex, a new flex-fuel motorcycle capable of running on ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85. Priced at ₹1,24,240 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the motorcycle aligns with India’s growing focus on cleaner and more sustainable mobility solutions.

Powering the FZ Blue Flex is a 149cc air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that delivers 8.6 kW of power and 12.8 Nm of peak torque, paired with a five-speed gearbox. The engine has been specifically engineered to operate efficiently across varying ethanol-blend levels, supporting the government’s push towards increased adoption of biofuels in the transportation sector.

The motorcycle retains the familiar styling of the FZ lineup, featuring a full-LED projector headlamp with integrated position lamps, a muscular fuel tank, an LED tail lamp, and a single-piece seat. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks at the front and a rear swingarm setup, while the braking system is supported by ABS for enhanced rider safety.

The FZ Blue Flex will be available in Metallic Black and will initially be sold through Yamaha’s Blue Square dealerships across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu.

Commenting on the launch, Hajime Aota, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group, said the introduction of Blue Flex technology represents another important step in Yamaha’s sustainability journey, aligning the company’s global environmental vision with the Indian government’s biofuel initiatives and supporting the transition towards cleaner mobility.
