
JSW MG Motor India has introduced MG ADAPT (Advance Drive Architecture Platform Technology), India’s first Multi New Energy Vehicle (NEV) platform, marking a significant step in the company’s strategy to expand its new energy mobility portfolio. Developed as a future-ready modular architecture, MG ADAPT is designed to support multiple propulsion technologies on a single intelligent platform, including Battery Electric Vehicles (EVs), Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) and Range Extender Electric Vehicles (REEVs). The flexible architecture is aimed at enabling faster product development while catering to evolving customer preferences and diverse mobility requirements.
As part of its rollout plan, JSW MG Motor India will introduce one all-electric vehicle and one plug-in hybrid electric vehicle based on the MG ADAPT platform by FY2026–27, further strengthening its New Energy Vehicle portfolio in the country. The new platform integrates several advanced technologies, including a dedicated hybrid engine, a dedicated battery system, India’s first 10-in-1 Intelligent Electric Drive Unit and the world’s first Electromagnetic Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. Together, these technologies are designed to deliver enhanced efficiency, improved performance and seamless integration across multiple powertrain configurations.
MG ADAPT also features an Intelligent Energy Management System that automatically optimises vehicle performance through four drive modes—Pure Electric Drive, Series Hybrid Drive, Parallel Hybrid Drive and Engine Direct Drive. The system is engineered to maximise energy efficiency while ensuring smooth transitions between power sources based on driving conditions.
According to the company, the platform has been developed with a strong focus on extending driving range, enabling faster charging, delivering stronger performance, improving safety and enhancing overall driving refinement. With the introduction of MG ADAPT, JSW MG Motor India aims to accelerate the adoption of new energy mobility solutions by offering customers greater flexibility through multiple electrified powertrain options built on a common, intelligent vehicle architecture.
