Goodyear receives CDP ‘A’ Rating for Supplier Engagement

Goodyear has achieved an 'A' score in the CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment, recognizing its leadership in supplier collaboration, Scope 3 emissions management and climate action.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has earned an ‘A’ rating in the CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment, marking another milestone in the company’s ongoing sustainability journey and reinforcing its commitment to responsible environmental practices across its global supply chain.

The recognition highlights Goodyear’s leadership in engaging suppliers on climate-related initiatives and reflects the company’s continued efforts to strengthen sustainability performance throughout its operations and value chain.

The CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment, conducted by the global environmental disclosure organization CDP, evaluates how companies collaborate with suppliers on key climate issues, including governance, emissions reduction targets, Scope 3 emissions management and supplier engagement strategies.

An ‘A’ score represents the highest level of performance within CDP’s assessment framework, recognizing organizations that demonstrate strong leadership in managing climate-related risks and working collaboratively with suppliers to improve environmental performance over time.

Supplier engagement is an important part of Goodyear’s sustainability strategy, particularly as the company works to address emissions across its value chain and support the broader transition to a net-zero economy. Goodyear has set near-term science-based climate targets for 2030 and a long-term net-zero target for 2050.

Goodyear engages its suppliers in its climate targets and actions. In 2023, the company launched its supplier engagement program with its raw material suppliers, asking them to set science-based targets, pursue renewable electricity and energy goals, engage their own supply base on climate targets, publicly report progress and share product-level GHG emissions footprint data with Goodyear.

Goodyear’s supplier engagement work also includes emissions impact analysis by material group and supplier, supplier-specific roadmaps and supplier assessments. Together, these efforts help Goodyear better understand supplier sustainability practices, identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate with suppliers on shared climate and sustainability goals across the value chain.
