
Envalior India Pvt. Ltd., a global leader in high-performance engineering materials, has inaugurated the Envalior Centre of Excellence (CoE) in EV Technology at Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s (MM) Polytechnic in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune. Established as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and implemented in partnership with the BroadArks Foundation, the Centre aims to bridge the industry’s skill gap by providing students with hands-on training in electric vehicle technologies.
The new Centre of Excellence has been developed to equip aspiring engineers and technicians with practical knowledge and industry-relevant skills as the automotive sector rapidly transitions towards electrification and advanced mobility solutions. Through this initiative, Envalior seeks to strengthen the future EV workforce while supporting skill development and enhancing employment opportunities in India’s evolving mobility ecosystem.
The Centre was inaugurated by Christopher Stillings, Vice President R&D in the presence of Krijn Dijkstra, Nileshkumar Kukalyekar, Uday Shetty, Susmita Mishra, Hema Rani, Sainath Vaidya & Aniket Nirwan of Envalior representatives, MM Polytechnic leadership and other dignitaries. The initiative brings industry-oriented EV training into the technical education environment, enabling students to learn not only how electric vehicle systems work, but how they are diagnosed, maintained and serviced in practice.
With the Centre expected to train approximately 250 learners every year. The courses will be open to eligible ITI and Polytechnic students from Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science and allied disciplines.
The training has been structured across two progressive levels, allowing learners to move from foundational EV servicing skills to more advanced electric mobility systems:
- Level 4 – EV Service Technician: Students will develop practical understanding of EV architecture, battery fundamentals, charging systems, workshops and electrical safety, routine maintenance, basic diagnostics and digital service tools. The course will also introduce learners to the safe handling and servicing of electric vehicle systems.
- Level 5 – Advanced EV Systems: Learners will progress to battery-management systems (BMS), thermal management, high-voltage safety, motors and controllers, power electronics, charging infrastructure, and advanced diagnostics. The curriculum is designed to develop deeper troubleshooting and technical capabilities required for increasingly sophisticated EV platforms.
The learning will extend beyond classroom instruction through laboratory sessions using EV cut-sections, battery systems, motors and controllers, charging equipment, and diagnostic tools. Practical assessments, industry exposure, and a capstone project will further allow students to apply their learning to real-world EV systems.

By bringing together academia and industry expertise, we aim to equip the next generation of engineers with the practical skills, confidence, and innovation mindset needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving automotive landscape.”
Students will gain the ability to understand EV systems, work safely with electrical and high-voltage components, identify faults, use diagnostic tools and approach maintenance and servicing with greater practical confidence.

Through the initiative, Envalior aims to contribute to a more connected relationship between technical education and emerging industry requirements, while creating a scalable model for developing practical EV capabilities among young technical talent.
