TVS VMS enters electric trucking with Montra Electric Fleet

TVS Vehicle Mobility Solutions has entered the electric trucking segment by deploying 57 Montra Electric Rhino heavy commercial trucks. The fleet will operate on a 190-km freight corridor in Chhattisgarh, with more than 300 electric trucks planned for deployment in FY2026-27.

TVS Vehicle Mobility Solutions (TVS VMS) has entered the electric trucking segment with the deployment of Montra Electric Rhino heavy commercial vehicles for its freight operations. The rollout commenced with the flagging off of 57 Montra Electric Rhino 5538 EV 4×2 TT electric trucks from Manesar, marking a significant step towards sustainable logistics in India.

The electric truck fleet will be deployed on a 190-km freight corridor in Chhattisgarh, supported by three dedicated charging stations to ensure efficient operations. As part of their long-term collaboration, TVS VMS and Montra Electric plan to deploy more than 300 electric heavy commercial vehicles during FY2026-27, accelerating the adoption of zero-emission freight transport.

Commenting on the development, Jalaj Gupta, Managing Director, Montra Electric, said the partnership validates the company’s electric truck technology for large-scale commercial operations and demonstrates its readiness for India’s evolving logistics sector.
